This Oil Painting on a Flat (but Not Rectangular) Panel is Bananas

Dutch painter Rutger Hiemstra recently completed this hyperrealistc 3D painting of a banana in an aluminum container. This is an ongoing series for Hiemstra who has painted 8 various images of a banana in various lunch containers. In the video below you can see how his previous painting in the series (banana nr 7) came to life and also get a sense for how he achieved the 3D effect. Rocket Lab gets NASA certification for official smallsat launches

Rocket Lab’s Electron launch vehicle has received Category 1 certification from NASA, meaning it is authorized for use on more important missions, opening up a whole new revenue stream for the growing launch provider.
