Shawn Mendes Cancels Show In Brazil Due To ‘Laryngitis And Sinus Infection’ Diagnosis – Perez Hilton

Poor Shawn Mendes!!

The 21-year-old is under the weather with after being diagnosed with “laryngitis and a sinus infection,” and has canceled a scheduled performance on Saturday night in São Paulo, Brazil so he does not “risk long term damage” to his voice.

The Stitches singer penned (below) a lengthy note on his Instagram Story and Twitter explaining his diagnosis:

“Sao Paulo, I’m so so sorry to have to tell you this, but today I woke up feeling ill, and went to the doctor, to find out I have laryngitis and a sinus infection which has caused swelling of my vocal cords. It breaks my heart to do this but my doctors told me I can not perform tonight or it would risk long term damage to my voice. I love you all so much and apologize from the bottom of my heart as I wish I could be there on stage tonight. I promise I will make it up to you next time I’m back in South America. Te Amo 😔❤️”

Mendes shortly after added a follow up note expressing his sorrow for canceling the show:

Also on Saturday, Camila Cabello‘s beau was spotted (see the photos HERE) looking somber while visiting a medical clinic. The Señorita collaborator has several shows lined up through December in Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Mexico. Only time will tell if he’s able to rest up enough ahead of his next scheduled concert on December 3 in Rio de Janeiro!

Recently, his leading lady reflected on when things between them went from purely platonic to making out on Instagram (LOLz):

“During I Know What You Did Last Summer, I really bonded with him as more than a friend. I think he did, too, but we were both really young, and he was experiencing the pressures of his career. I don’t think we knew what to do with those feelings. It was this awkward thing where we both liked each other, but we weren’t together. It was just weird.

An energy was there from the beginning, but after that song, we didn’t spend as much time together. Our paths just didn’t cross in that way romantically until we started hanging out again and writing. For me, it just brought it back.”

Get well soon, Shawn!!
